Everett Dekton Outdoor Kitchen — Brazilian Churrasqueria Project
Everett Dekton Outdoor Kitchen — Brazilian Churrasqueria Project
This Everett, Washington project is a personal showcase from ProGranite Surfaces LLC — a cohesive indoor/outdoor living space built around the bold flavors and craftsmanship of Brazilian churrasco. For his own residence, Andrew Shubin, the owner of ProGranite Surfaces LLC, approached the project with the same precision and material knowledge he brings to his professional work. Both the design and fabrication were led by ProGranite, with Dekton selected throughout for its durability, versatility, and aesthetic range.
An avid cook, Andrew drew inspiration from multiple trips to Brazil with the Cosentino team, where he experienced traditional Brazilian churrasquerias firsthand. Wanting to recreate that experience at home, he sourced a professional-grade churrasquera-style charcoal grill from a Brazilian equipment distributor. The outdoor kitchen was then designed entirely around this charcoal grill, which uses skewers, baskets, and grill plates to prepare food over open flame.

Why Dekton for the Outdoor Kitchen
When it came to material selection for the outdoor kitchen, Dekton was the clear choice. It’s resistant to heat, UV exposure, and temperature fluctuations, making it ideally suited for the Pacific Northwest climate and for high-performance outdoor cooking environments. Dekton Laurent was valued for its rich, organic veining and warm tones that pair seamlessly with the natural wood elements throughout the space.

Dekton Taga at the Indoor Fireplace
Inside, a full-height fireplace surround is clad in Dekton Taga, integrating a mounted television into the architectural design. Its subtle texture and tonal variation add visual interest while maintaining a clean, refined look — tying the indoor living space back to the outdoor kitchen through a consistent material language.

The result is a cohesive indoor/outdoor project that balances performance with design, demonstrating Dekton’s ability to move between demanding exterior applications and refined interior spaces. From open-flame churrasco to a sleek fireplace media wall, this Everett project is ProGranite craftsmanship at its most personal.
